Just got my truck yesterday and I think by far my biggest concern or worry is getting the right after market tonneau cover. There are dozens of them out there. I dont want a one piece hinge up type cover but am open to most of the other types including some of the soft covers, although probably not a roll back soft cover but would certainly consider some of the "tri fold" type soft covers. I have a quad cab so I have the 6'-4 bed. I would be very grateful for some input on which way to go. The ones so far that have caught my eye are the BakFlip G2.
The Lund Elite Tri Fold cover ( a soft cover).
TruXedo Deuce 2 Tonneau Cover....and
Mopar Premium Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover
I had a Sport trac with the factory 2 piece "butterfly" type of cover which hinged either side from the center. It worked great but was a pain to take off by my self. My Ram of course is a much bigger truck with a larger bed and I see there are no 2 piece units out there.
Thank you

Agree with you that today's market offer so many types and styles of tonneau covers, that this becomes a really tough decision, which tonneau cover is right for your truck. You can check this article to learn more about all the types of covers available now, and decide which one you actually need: How to Choose the Right Tonneau Cover I believe then it will be much easier to choose. Here is the list of all tonneau covers we have for your model: 2015 Dodge Ram Tonneau Covers | Roll-Up, Tri-Fold, Hinged If you're interested in anything specific, let me know!

I wouldn't discount the hard tonneaus altogether. I just got the Leer 700 installed on my 2500 and it looks great. Color match is fantastic and is unexpectedly light for its size. They do have some limitations but I think they look far better than the flip, folds or roll back type. I happen to have a second truck should I ever need to use the bed for large items that stick up over the bed rails.

Is there a reason you don't want a soft roll-up cover? I put an Access Vanish on my truck and it looks really nice and works well. At $300 it was one of the cheaper options too.

I love my bakflip, plus i have a locking tailgate handle so i can keep my bed secure. Also if i need to put a fridge in my truck it folds up and out of the way. In the winter time it can handle the weight of snow and i don't have to worry like a soft top.

I went with extang full-tilt from Truck Champs. It has the benefit of a tilt up as well as the option to roll it up for big items. Also one man removal in minutes. Love it.

I have the truxedo deuce 2 and its a pretty good cover but I wish I would of gone with a hard cover just for the added protection on gear in the bed.

I have the tonno pro tri fold. It's a easy 1 person on off 20 min initial install 3 to remove 10 to reinstall. It's proven its self to me after hard rain or auto car wash there is like 2 beads of water rolling around in there very minimal. The only thing I don't like is the fit across the tail gate, honestly there isn't much to be done there with the curve of the tailgate.

^^^ This. I have the Tonno pro tri fold as well and love it. I can remove it in 2 or 3 minutes and reinstall it in under 10 by myself.

The only reason I can think of is the soft rollups aren't as resistant to breaking/entering as some of the high dollar metal roll-ups,,, but of course, they only cost a fraction of what the high-dollar ones cost, so,,, ?

I park my vehicle inside a garage at night. I don't leave anything of any value in the bed any longer than absolutely necessary. (Bed is ~empty~ virtually 98 days out of 100) The added security of a high dollar roll up is not necessary for my application.

Hard tri-fold. Not really much more secure than a soft tonneau. (Most can be forced open or simply opened with a coat hanger)

I almost went with a hard tri-fold on the 14, but I do have one 'quirk' in my usage that others may not,,,

I take a week off a couple times a year and haul a 'full size' touring MC in the bed to my destination. Every inch of room is needed to get the bike as far forward as possible. Once I arrive at my destination, I'll unload the bike and I need the tonneau to 'conceal' multiple items in the bed while I'm out riding all day,,,

Virtually every type of tonneau, except for a soft roll, has to be removed to use ~100%~ of the bed length. I can't realistically 'remove/stow/transport' any cover for use at my destination when the bed is already loaded with the MC and other gear.

So,,,

I had an Access Lorado on the 09. I did everything I needed it to do, so I went with the same on my 14, even though I 'wanted' a hard tri fold. (Bak or Undercover)

Everyone's needs are different. Security, bed usage, ,,, All need to be considered when choosing a cover.

Undercover Flex. 6'4" bed. I like it so far. $750 shipped on Amazon. Doesn't rest on cab when fully open and locks in place flat if you open all but last panel.

Does the Access Vanish work with the factory drop-in bed liner?

I bought one of the Autoanything store brand tri-folds.

I have no regrets... it functions perfectly and all the hardware was good quality. I like the looks of a smooth seamless tonneau better but I needed the security of a lockable hard shell. Price was right at $650 shipped.

It is this one.... they have all kinds of discount codes and if you chat with one of the representatives and ask nicely they will discount just about anything on their site. If not.... put it in your shopping cart and abandon it for a few days. They will send you a discount on it to encourage you to seal the deal.
