I want to get a coat of wax on my truck before the white stuff starts to fly. I'm wondering how cold is too cold to wax a vehicle? Or is it ok to wax in the cold as long as I can stand it? Tomorrow looks to be the warmest day out of the next 10 days...high of 45.

It depends on the wax/sealant. Do you have a garage? For spray-on waxes, you may be OK to do down to freezing. For wipe-on/wipe-off, the colder it is, the longer it will take to haze. 45 is probably the lower limit on some. It won't hurt to try.

I've never heard of a real specified absolute minimum, but I don't know that they'd perform the same at such low temperatures. It'd wait till it was as warm as possible.

most waxes they want the surface temperature to be between 45-90*. Some will go as low as 40*, haven't seen any below that.

A shiny one
Once you get below ~50* the material will become more difficult to spread and probably more importantly, more difficult to remove.

Since this thread is a few days old, did you get a change to try it out?

No. The warm day we had it rained and it's been in the 30's since. Next week I think it's supposed to touch 50 degrees so I might try it then.

This is where Adams Quick Sealant comes in handy dandy! Lasts an ungodly long time, and it can be applied on colder surfaces. Above freezing of course.

For a long time I have been curious as to how cold it can get before one could apply a sealant and wax. So three weeks ago I bought a brand new Rubicon jeep.

No heat in my garage so I parked it there. I put very thin layers of the sealant and wax on. The outside temp was 38 degrees. Yes, I had to wait longer for it to haze over and it took just a little more pressure with a M/Fiber towel to wipe it off. However, it worked which amazed me. I kept both bottles of products inside my heavy coat so they wouldn't thicken up on me.

Would I do it again? Nope, not in my garage but for sure in my heated shop.
