Hey guys, 1st post here. Bought my Ram a little over a month ago. This Ram is my first truck and I love it. I'll never be without a truck in the stable anymore.

Anyway, the truck came with the OEM tri-fold tonneau cover. I've used it some already and plan on keeping it; I like the option of having it on or off. This leads me to my question for you knowledgable folk:

Is there a tool box that will fit under the tonneau?

Most standard boxes cannot be used in conjunction with the cover, as you guys well know. And to answer a question that will come up, I do not have any rails in my factory lined bed. Thanks

Yes, there are plenty of tool boxes that sit below the bed rails.

Lowes, Northern Tool, CarID and a host of other online sellers have a good selection. There are a lot to choose from.

Welcome to the forum.

I like the Under cover Swing cases real well I plan on getting one at some point.
I have a DeeZee box on the driver side thats a tool box with 5 drawers.
I like the idea of these style of boxes so it does not use up the space of the bed floor shorting the lenght more.

There are lots of tool chests/boxes that should fit your needs. Can be steel, aluminum, or poly. Cost will vary quite a bit. Try some farm supply stores also.

I have a Leer hard tonneau cover hinged at the front of the box, and when it is open the lid of the tool box will still open completely. It is the only one I found that would do that. It is lockable and surprisingly enough it holds a lot of stuff. You still have to crawl in the bed to get to it so I put a bed rug in so it is easier on my old knees.

Great question. You might need to go custom from these guys, but you could check out what Highway Products has. They have a low profile truck tool box that might do the trick for you, but they also do a lot of custom tool box work. There stuff is not cheap, but it isn't "cheap" either--meaning, you're getting good quality stuff from what I know.

Good luck on the hunt--curious to hear what you end up finding.

I just bought these. They are on sale for Black Friday and it sure beats moving my toolbox around all the time.

I thought about it too. But I didn’t want to have to unroll my bed cover every time I wanted to get in it.

They make another one that has a rail and rolls in and out. Du-Ha tote that locks in the bed too.
