Will a topper from a 2002 1500 fit a 2003 1500. Both have the short beds. I figured they would just cuz they are both third gen but am not positive.

02 1500 or 2500? 1500 to 1500 you are ok. BUT the 02 2500s are the 2nd gens still.

You're welcome. Not sure about the painting. Sometimes it depends on the color, if they have to specially mix something it'll be a little bit more. The only thing I've had painted was a tonneau cover and it was black, so it wasn't too expensive, just a couple hundred bucks.

Yeah, just have to get a quote from your local paint shop, shouldn't be too much

Reds and oranges tend to be a little more expensive, I have heard.

Went to go look at the cap today. Drove an hour to go buy it. Guy said it was good condition. Got there and the thing was beat to crap. So ended up passing on it and just wasting gas haha. Think im just gonna buy a new one. Looking at an ARE right now. Anyone heard anything bad or good about them? The month of November the shop is offering free lining with the purchase. So want to try to get it before the end of the month.

ah well that stinks that it was in bad condition. I had an ARE tonneau cover on my 2005 and was very happy with it. I've never had experience with their toppers tho. They are a very good brand in my opinion.

I know a few people with them. The only problems they've had was paint fading on the top of them but I dunno if they came painted or if they had them painted elsewhere
