So I picked up my 2022 Laramie last night. One of the options I added to the build were the tow mirrors (power folding, btw - I was happy). However, I noticed last night that when the headlights are on, the signal lights on the mirrors also turn on as part of the headlight system. They still blink when turning (get brighter), but they are always on when the headlights are on. Is this normal? I can’t find anything in the manual or online that specifically states this as part of the normal operation.

I haven’t noticed these mirrors at night on other Rams, so I have nothing to compare it to.

Yep they are supposed to be like that, they had been like that on the HDs for a while I think. I was happy to see they finally changed that for the 1500s when I got my 21, I think it's a lot better look with the dual function for the light.

Also love the extra led lights in the mirrors for backing up, those can be handy when you're backing in somewhere dark.

Thanks for clearing that up. I haven’t noticed those lights…Now I am curious! I might have missed them because as I back into my driveway, I have a narrow space, so I have to fold the mirrors while I am backing so I don’t hit the house on one side and my neighbours fence on the other.

No problem, and they can be easy to miss if you don't know they are there:

You can turn them on in park or reverse by turning on the bed light, they are also useful to me when locking up my garage which otherwise has no light on it...I used to fumble around with my cell phone to get light or do it by feel.

Today I learned…

That is a great feature - thanks so much for pointing that out and showing the photos. These will come in handy when setting the trailer up at night and they look really bright.

I am glad I added these mirrors to the order at the last minute. It meant I couldn’t get the safety tech features (lane departure, etc), but that also helped me get my truck a lot sooner. So win-win.

Glad to be able to help!

This is my third set of tow mirrors I've had, although the first that power fold and have the bsm etc in them (I got lucky all of that was available when I ordered my 21 back in March). I don't tow but I really like having the tow mirrors over the standard mirrors and once I saw they finally made them power fold and capable of surround view for 21 on the 1500s, I didn't hesitate to order with them.
