2E93A901-3BCC-42F6-A567-23AFF8619D1E.jpeg nothing seems to be wrong however every time I turn the key it dings and says service tire monitoring system. All 4 sensors are reading and responding to pressure changes. This happened a few weeks ago then went away for a few days now it’s back and seems to be staying this time. 2012 Ram 1500 5.7 4x4 Crew Cab

My 11 1500 Laramie did that to me last week, reported low pressure ... I run 38 psi and one was at 32 others were 36,37,37 so I put some in the low tire and I drove for almost 2 days before it stopped dinging every startup. But yet I could see the pressures change as I drove around ..... so far it has not come back on.

Mine is not reporting low pressure. It just says service tire pressure system.
No indication of a problem tire.

Weak battery in one of the TPM sensors maybe? A scanner would be needed to confirm.

Would need to check the codes to be sure, could be a failing sensor.

Do you have HID headlights? They’ve been known to cause weird issues with TPMS.

My vote is battery in one of the TPMS sensors. Service life is around 5-7 years on the battery before they start to go.

Does the TPMS indicator flash for a few seconds and go solid or flash for several seconds before going solid?

The sensors have a radio transmitter and when batteries get weak, the signal weakens. Sometimes the computer picks it up, sometimes not. When it doesn't pick up a signal, it sets a system fault and status message. These sensor signals can go in and out for some time before completely going dead.

It takes 20 minutes or so of driving above 15 mph with a bad sensor to set the fault. It may get reset upon successfully receiving data from the sensor.

It could be other faults, of which the fault code would be helpful to support more guesses. Most tire shops will check the sensors for free.

Well sorta different, sorta similar, BUT.. My altima (with 185K on it )has had the TPMS light on for about 100K of those miles. Since it was out of warranty and the dealer wanted a ridiculous amount to even check the system , which I didn't think there was much to anyway, I just left it alone.

Have you tried dropping the pressure. Might be seeing that pressure as too high.

Yes the light on the dash flashes before going solid at each start up. I would think one of the sensors would not read intermittently if the battery was getting weak. I have aired down to 36 and all sensors reported the change, but the light stayed on. I drove for 2 hours yesterday hoping to reset any faults.
I do have LED headlights not HID

My 13 Ram with 17 inch oem wheels started doing same thing, but was due to being low. Once the low registered it required me to go to 43 psi before the light system would reset. Had me stumped for a bit because even at 40 psi it acted up, it can drop to 37 psi now and no light, but soon as I drop below 36psi, I have to air all 4 to 43. At 50 I don't know, I never had mine that high, even at 43 on hot day, max mine get to is 48.

I moved the receiver today to the inside of the frame rail. instead of the outside under the body mount. My hope is that if there is an interference moving it may be just enough to make it happy again.
