Hey Everyone,

Just bought a new 2013 Ram 1500 and have a question about it already. :)

It says it has traction control AND Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle. My question is, why would it need both? What doesn't Traction control do that Anti-Spin Differential can do, and what doesn't Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle do that Traction control can do? In my limited understanding it of, if it had tracktion control, it shouldn't need Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle.

When i was talking to the sales man, it was clear he didn't really know.

thought?

thanks,
Andy G.

Kind of the same. The locking rear will engage when wheel slippage is detected so both wheels will have power. Traction control applies the brakes to the wheel that has lost traction.

so, my question is then, what is the advantage of having both systems?

Good question. I have both because I added the Auburn and I am not sure which one is better on ice the Auburn makes the whole tail end slide out but better than one wheel wonder and no traction. In deep snow the traction control is a complete liability and has to be turned off or it screws me over.

If both wheels slip then the tc starts cutting power and adding brake. I cant really notice nuch tc when obly one wheel slips. I can tell when the limited slip kicks in when one wheel slips.
