Trailer brake controller for 5th gen

Has anyone bought an OEM integrated trailer brake controller and installed it themselves?? The dealer wants $750 to buy and install. I can get one on ebay for $165. Was just wondering if the dealer needs to program anything or is it just straight plug and play.

If it's like the 4th gen you can buy and install it yourself but the dealer will need to program the brake controller in. Depending on the dealership that'll run you .5 to 1 hour labour.

Just had mine put in it was over two hours. I asked for it to be included as part of the deal on the truck so they did it for free.

I put mine in myself, not a hard job, maybe 45 minutes or so. You will need the dealer to flash the sales code into the computer for the truck to realize its there though

Bought mine for $275, dealer installed and programmed it, for $120, 1 hour labor
