They length is the blind spot monitoring system. Depending if you make long or short turns it could give you 20 or 30 feet. My 23 foot travel trailer does the same thing. It mush be right there at a lenght the system is unsure of goes on the side of caution. But it is defenetly depending on the angle of the turn when it changes

I have not noticed that it makes a difference during turns. But then I haven't paid that much attention to that scenario. I will now that you mentioned it. Thanks

For reference... I have mine on auto detect. I think you can force the length.

If you want your truck to record the miles pulling the trailer and be able to set the length you can trick the truck into thinking a trailer with electric brakes is being towed. Here's how

Wire a 12 ohm 8-10 watt resistor to the trailer brake (pin 2) and ground (pin 1) wire slots of your trailer plug.

Trailer two mileage will be recorded
The mileage can be reset to zero anytime.

The Rear Park sensors will be disabled.

Once the exhaust brake is turned on it will always be on unless you turn it off.
Sometimes when restarting a truck that has been off for a while the EB will be "off". Just push EB button to turn back "on"

I can't read any of that. Why did you choose yellow font?? Yellow on white background is unreadable, just FYI.

Thanks for the heads up
My background is black so yellow stands out.
Here it is for your white screen. Let me know if you want a different color

Thank you for your reply. The trailer does have electric brakes and what I think/thought is a 7 pin connection. I took a picture of it and attached it. This has 4 pins + 1 in the middle and 2 empty slots. Is this considered a 7 pin connection or a 4 pin?

That's a 4-pin converted to a 7-pin plug OR there's a 4-pin to 7 pin adapter installed. There's no brakes or +12v charge so it's not a true 7-pin plug.

Appreciate the black text. Just FYI, your own signature is pretty much unreadable as well. You're better off leaving the font color untouched. Those of us who use the "Ramforum Light" theme will get black text then, and those of you who use the "Ramforum Dark" style will get a lighter text. When you manually override the color to yellow or cyan, it's always that color and they don't show up on white.

He asked me the same question on page 1. I gave him the same answer. Seems he doesn't get it

I didn't ask you anything on page 1.

The only people who don't get it, are people who manually change the color of the font without realizing that this forum has different styles/themes and you are making the text unreadable for some people; I assume the point of posting your messages all over the place is that you think its worth reading, so maybe keep that in mind and don't change the color of the text.

Re-read your post #24, you asked, "Why did you choose yellow font??"

By the way, the point of my posting is to answer questions and to help other members. If you think they are not worth reading, don't read them. With your attitude, I don't give a rat's ass what you think.

Chill!

Yeah, I asked you that question, once, on page 3. Not page 1. You worded your post like I asked that question multiple times:

He asked me the same question on page 1. I gave him the same answer. Seems he doesn't get it

What exactly, "don't I get"? I asked you once why you used yellow.

And no need to be so sensitive. I simply pointed out that if the intent of your messages is to help people or be informative, or interesting (in the case of your sig), then maybe don't color your text as not everyone reads using the depressingly black/dark forum style.
