I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L 46re. My trans went bad. I picked up a 46re out of a 98 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.9L. I swapped the electronic. I ordered the solenoid upgrade kit for the 2000 to put in the 98. It consisted of
- Rostra dual pack shift solenoid – 3-4 and lockup
- HD 50185 Borg Warner governor pressure solenoid
- Rostra governor pressure sensor - transducer temperature sensor
- Output speed sensor
- Sonnax updated 3-4 accumulator spring
- Governor pressure solenoid body gasket
now it’s working half ass. I have all 4 gears. But it won’t shift out of 2nd unless I let off the gas. Also starts out like I have a high stall converter.
- It gives me two codes
- P1740 Dodge Description
The P1740 code will set if expected RPM drop is not achieved while attempting to engine TCC and/or Overdrive. The P1740code indicates malfunctioning torque converter or overdrive clutch.
and P1756 - Governor Pressures Solenoid Conditions- Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated
