Ive got a 2001 dodge ram 1500 with the 5.9l v8 magnum im having trouble finding a good used transmission so will a transmission off of a 5.2l v8 magnum work for my truck?

Is it an automatic or manual transmission
Either way it should work especially if it is from the same year.

Any 46RE should work fine. All 96+ V8 1500's had the same trans. Only difference was 2wd or 4wd for obvious reasons.

i have a trans that has never been in a truck .... its for a 97 4X4. ... had it built and hit a deer going to the shop to have it put in. all HD guts so it could take a 200 shot of NOS. still has the tags on it. ..... 1700 .... im in it 3k

My transmission just bit the dust in my 1997 2wd 1500. It just won’t shift out of 2nd.
A local transmission shop here will look at it Monday. He said on a truck this age he would do a rebuild. It’s been a good Tranny for sure. Coming up on 330k miles.
Estimate he gave me was $2100, 24 month, 24000 mile warranty.

swap the tail shaft and the one i have will work for ya .....
