Looking for some advice. My 2004 ram 2500 5.7 hemi automatic is having shifting issues it has 84000 miles and is acting like the transmission is slipping . I was diving 55mph with the cruise on and the truck ****** and then the check engine light came on directly. I just had it in the shop for the same thing and they replaced the shift Solenoid I drove it about 50 miles and the same this is going on any thoughts of why it’s happening again and what might cause this?

Who performed the oil and filter changes, and what oil was used? How many miles?

That old of a tranny, if I were to have it taken out, I would have it rebuilt properly.

How long ago did they replace it? If it was a bad part replacement, they should have a warranty for it.

Is it only a sporadic issue, once in a while, the slipping/jerking? Only certain conditions? Or pretty much all the time? And assuming that fluids are normal.

They replaced it about 1 week ago. The slipping and jerking only happens when the check engine light comes on other than that the truck runs great . I had the transmission and filter replaced before i bought it about 3 weeks ago

Not throwing a p0734 or 735 makes me think the trans is still ok, could possibly be a bad part. My truck had same problems years ago at similar mileage, 87k on my end give or take. Dealer replaced it under warranty an of corse I wrecked the trans about 10k miles after lol
