About 6 weeks ago I replaced my factory muffler and went down from 3 inch to 2.5 single in dual out tubes. Ever since that, my tranny finds hard to jump to 8th gear even on highway speed, don't really know if it's a back pressure issue now that there's less restrictive system and my rpms are lower as well, it only happens from 7th to eight gear.
The truck is a 2018 1500 crew cab v6 3.6l with the 8 speed tranny.
Have this happened to any of you guys after replacing the muffler or pipes???
Any ideas or possible fixes will be much appreciated

did you replaced the factory muffler by the dual factory muffler (from a 5.7)?

The first thing I would do is to unplug the battery for a few minutes. This solved many issues i had with the truck

No, I actually replaced it for a 18" Magnaflow and custom build pipes and tips from the muffler to the back...

ok then yes the extra flow could be for something, but try to disconnect the battery and see if it change anything.

Another thing you could try is to cap off one of the dual exit (to test), this would reproduce a 3" to 2.5" restriction and should help if too much flow is the issue.

Every time someone complains of poor performance, I always ask the same thing,
