I have a 1992 Dodge Ram 5.2L. One of the transmission oil cooler lines right up near the front of the engine has a massive leak due to a hole. I'm guessing the age of it is the reason.

I tried JB Weld steel stick to plug it, but it's not working. I have looked high and low, and even Mopar doesn't make the steel oil cooler lines.

How can I fix this? Any help is appreciated!

You can use a short piece of rubber gas line and a couple clamps as a temporary fix, although transmission line would be better, and last longer.
There are multiple aftermarket solutions to replace the lines, just do a little googlefoo.

That's the thing. I have been looking everywhere for it. Oreilly, Carparts.com, RockAuto, even Mopar, and I cannot find it.

You can't find rubber gas/trans line or line replacements?

The lines on the truck are steel. That's what I cannot find is the direct replacement.

Are you saying that rubber is good enough for a permanent fix?

I found a couple 'sites that make OEM coolant lines, I didn't see them listed for a 1992 but maybe contact them and see if they make them.
Unless you're trying to restore it perfectly there's no reason that they need to look like OEM.
You could get brake line and bend them to fit. Biggest issue might be to get the correct radiator connector.
You could just buy a roll of transmission cooler line and run that up where you need it.
Another option is go to a shop that makes hydraulic lines and get braided lines and fittings. Take the old lines off, walk in and have them recreate them.

Just be sure that your trucks lines are 3/8". Easy way is to slip a 3/8" open end wrench over them, if it slips on snugly, it's good. If not try a couple other sizes until you find the right size, then you'll know what size hose to buy.
Make sure you route the new line away from any sharp edges or hot exhaust pipes. Should last quite a while.

If they are 5/16" and you use 3/8" hose it might slip off. You would quickly pump the fluid out and burn up the trans. I use a flaring tool to expand the end a little to create a "hump" to help prevent the line from sliding off. Not a complete flare, just bulge it out a little. Use the insert from the kit that goes into the line, it's the second part of making a double flare. Don't do the first part.
