transmission problems

Whomever decided computers in a vehicle was a good idea needs to go flip burgers. I'm about 80 miles out of town and shut off my truck to load it up. Nothing funny happened. Go to start it back up and I get this. Also I can't power it down without disconnecting the battery. Tried unhooking the battery cables and hooking them together for 2 minutes and nothing changed. Any ideas? 2020 5.7

Do you have a scanner to read DTCs?
Have any other messages appeared on the EVIC?

This information is almost irrelevant without a battery load test.

This $20 toaster-style battery load tester from Harbour Freight will verify the ability of the battery to handle the necessary starting current.
And if there's a flaky cell that only misbehaves under load, the CCA results will fail.

I don't know if it's applicable to the 8 speed, but I had some of that with my 2013 6 speed. The problem ended up being water in the 20 something pin wiring connector in the engine bay by the front window on the passenger side.

Pulled my hair out till I found someone who mentioned in on a forum.

I’m thinking it’s a faulty battery problem. Also had weird happenings on my ‘24 Ram due to low battery capacity.

It sits a lot as I travel for work. Could sit for 5 days. Then next trip it sits 20 days. And so on…

Was getting a stumbling idle at initial start-up. Dropped it off at the dealer. Their diagnostic test called out the battery. Symptoms haven’t returned again since it was changed.

Worth considering the battery I guess…

Mine is a 2015 2500, but I would get similar messages telling me to service every system it had when the batteries were low. Winter is always a roll of the dice if it sits over the weekend.
