Hi all,

I have a 2013 1500 with 120k miles. Hemi, 8 speed transmission

For the past month, transmission is very slow to shift from P to R to Drive. Once it shifts, it's just fine on higher gears, sometimes I hear some shuddering noises when it's shifting between 2-3 gear at low speed

If I shift to R and try to drive right away, i see blinking light on the shifter and it's not shifting.

Same with shifting to Drive... I have to wait 3-5 seconds, otherwise the shifter light flashes.

I have to shift, then wait 3 seconds, then I can drive.

I've been doing transmission fluid changes every 50k with Oem fluid. And did my last one about 10k miles ago.

No cel noises...

Any ideas? What's the consensus?

Thank you!

Hey Kap, I would do the process of checking the fluid level as a starting point, rule out low fluid before step two. Low or high fluid causes a huge number of transmission issues and is the easiest fix as well. If it was an rfe I could wager some guesses, but I know zip about the 8 speed.

Hi Burla, thank you!

Transmission temp is normal though, wouldn't temp be high if fluid is low?
