Transmission: will a transmission from a 2007 ram fit my 2005? Both have 5.7 engine and 4x4

Hi the transmission on my 2005 ram 1500 4x4 is being bad, I found a 2007 ram transmission for cheap. They both have 5.7 motors and both are 4x4s. Is that a simple remove/install perfect fit??

I would call a salvage/wrecking yard and ask them, they should have interchange books that tell them what parts & years will interchange...

Yep. Drop one, install the other. Do a quick learn (this is non-negotiable or you'll be doing it again).
