Last night I was on the beach and there some pretty nasty areas with super soft sand. Not only was I having to use 4-hi, but my foot was also a bit more aggressive on the gas than it usually is. After driving for a while on the beach the check gauges light came on and I noticed the temperature was really high (maxed out). So I let the truck idle for a while and it went away in minutes. What I'm wondering is if there's a mod or something I can do to prevent that from happening, because that could be really inconvenient if I'm in the middle of some really nasty **** lol.

Thanks

if you are overheated, the best way to cool down is to leave it in neutral, not park. if your engine is overheating, chances are your tranny is fairly warm too. keeping it in neutral keeps the fluid pumping through the tranny and the cooler, and will cool it down much faster than it would in park.

I looked into the 180 stat and the bigger tranny cooler, and both look like really good investments....the only problem is see is just finding that tranny cooler lol.

I don't think the radiator had a lot of sand as I wasn't driving stupid doing donuts or anything, just trying to get to my destination lol. If it does happen again, I'll definitely check it out though...and put it in neutral lol. Didn't know that, thanks for the info bud!
