Truck pops only in gear

We've had a 1999 dodge ram 1500 5.2l 4x4 in our family now for a while, recently we changed the fuel pump out because the old one went out. Now the truck pops/backfires only when put in gear and drove down road, it will run fine during idling with no issues. Any advice would be appreciated. Have a merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Might check the plugs.

What all did you do at the time of fuel pump replacement?

We replaced the plugs as soon as the popping began but that did not fix the problem

Could there possibly be air in the fuel line or fuel rail?

Check your fuel pressure at idle vs while driving (tape gauge to the windshield).

What kind of plugs did you use and what did you gap them to?
