I've been paying close attention to my truck's performance lately. Now that it's getting colder, she's starting to feel peppier. At part throttle (12-14% on my superchips throttle position gauge), she seems to have decent power, but when I hit 3rd gear it feels like I'm driving a 4 banger with 35's. I assume gears would help all across the power band, but how can I get more power in this range?

That is just a weak spot in the powerband for our trucks. Gears will help you rev through that dead spot, but the only other way around it is to add more power.

Don't hammer it out of 2p. Gotta remember the shift after second is not into 3rd unless you are running it hard. Otherwise it goes 1-2, 2-2p, 2p-3, 3-4, 4-5. Hit it hard in 2p and you can lose a trans.

And I can lose 2p by lowering the values on my superchips?

Nope, can't adjust 2p. Only way around it is to drive around with the tow/haul on or OD off. But that sacrifices mpg. If you feel like hammering it out of 2p hit the tow/haul or OD button and wait for it to shift out of 2p before hitting the gas.

Wow thanks for clarifying there, I thought 2p was only used as a passing gear, not right after 2nd..
