My truck is stuck in 4x4 as if the knob were on 4x4lock but its on 2wd. I noticed this happened when I took my truck up a dirt road. I never once turned my knob into 4x4 on my trip as there was no need. While I was there I let my truck run and the battery died by mistake and got a boost from a friend. It was on my way back down the road that I noticed the 4x4 light was on and 4x4 engaged. Not sure if it was on anytime before that. The funny thing is weeks ago I noticed my truck would not go into 4x4 at all...
Ive read about faulty 4x4 actuators, blocked vacuum lines and a bad transfer case switch. Its pooring rain out so I didnt crawl under my truck yesterday. Where abouts is my actuator located? Does anyone have any diagnosis steps to slimming down the potential fault?
Can I manually put my truck back into 2wd by shift something?
I hope anyone can help. Thanks.
