Well I have a 2003 with the 4.7 that just recently turned over 200,000 miles. The truck had been running great until now. When I left work today it ran normal with no problems but when I shut it off to run into a friends house for about an hour or so it would not run when I went to leave. It fired up at first and then immediately died. I tried again but this time it would try to run but would not fire completely. It did that about four times and finally stopped trying to run and now it just cranks over as if it is out of fuel. I tried to listen for the fuel pump but couldn't hear it because of the wind blowing. Not sure if a fuel pump will cause it to act the way it did or not. I hooked up a diagnostic code reader hoping it would give me something but it said no codes found. I was hoping it could possibly be a cam position sensor or crank position sensor but when no code was found I'm not sure. Does anybody know if either will fail and not throw a code? I know a fuel pump will not throw one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
