I have a 2000 dodge ram with 5.9 diesel. Crank no start and sometimes it would start, NO CODE was set. I started by replacing fuel pumps and relays and the final thing I replaced was the crank position sensor. It starts all the time. It is reliable again. Go to Dodge and get the crankshaft position sensor. Do NOT get a Crankshaft position sensor from aftermarket part store. I hope this helps you!

Check your leads from your battery... and when I say check... I mean with a MM. I've seen about a dozen of these lately where almost every one was a ground issue (including my recent one).
