Turn my ram into a jeep for a day

You can get around the auto-park feature using a 3" seatbelt extender from here: https://www.seatbeltextenderpros.com/ram-pickup-seat-belt-extender/
The bigger problem you'll be up against will be all the wiring, disconnecting it and you'll possibly have CEL pop-up as the door modules will not be communicating on the CANbus

Not to mention horn honking in reverse as well.

This may sound ridiculous, but when the weather gets nice i like to drive on the beach, so i have an idea that i take my doors off my ram for a beach day. Is this possible to do despite the autopark safety feature if the doors are open?

i say do it! may be easier than u think, may be a blast driving w doors off. you know they are heavy so make sure u have help removing and replacing, test in the driveway by unplugging the doors to see what works and what dont. but im all for it! sounds like a cool thing to do. maybe if it works you can custom fab some doors out of bars for safety purposes down the road. i love these type of things. let me know if you proceed and how it works.

I'd go for the spare Jeep purchase route. A friend just bought a 2007 Jeep for $5000. Was in great shape. Sure you could find one easily if you looked.

And if you screw up something on the Ram, someone ( other than yourself ) might get a little annoyed...

I've had the power window switch cluster on the door fail. No cel and nothing different about the truck running other than the door locks and windows didn't work. That shouldn't be a problem with no doors. With seatbelt on should be fine apart from the door ajar light being on full time. Not sure if it'll keep chiming.

If you do remove them drill an 1/8 “ hole thru the hinge itself and into the door ,to be used for realignment. Drill both top and bottom hinges. This works well. Renting a Jeep is better.

I WAS that guy for about a sh!tload of years!
Now, at 62, lookin' back at the 9 surgeries, 5 broken bones, separated shoulder, torn everything and permanently taking meds I hate, I say it still. I will never outgrow that.

I know here the Ranger is illegal. You have to have a 3" lip on the door frame to run without doors.
