Recently bought a used '05 2500 that is leveled with spacers and has about 34 inch tires.

First question, is there anything else that should have been done when putting in the leveling spacers besides an alignment? I want to make sure what was done to the truck was done right.

Second question, at what size tire to you need to change the gears on a truck? Does it need to be lifted with much bigger tires? Am I ok putting 35s on the truck with stock gearing? Thanks for the help.

Some people with swap the front shocks it with longer ones but some people don't. Also, you might look into a sway bar drop bracket, depending on the angle of your end links now.

You don't have to re-gear with 35's. There are plenty of people running that size tire with stock gearing without any issues. But it's all a personal opinion. I've got 3.92 gears and I'm running 35's but I'm looking into a set of 4.56's to swap into mine. Do you know what gears you've got in there now?

I believe the rear end should be stamped somewhere, or you could get a build sheet. Do you know how big the leveling kit is? May need sway bar drop brackets

I assume stock gearing, and the leveling kit was just 2 inch spacers in the front. How do I know if i need sway bar drop brackets and how can i tell if they are already there or not? This is a 2500 by the way.

Yeah, you axle is a SFA similar to our 2nd gens.
I believe there might have been a couple different options for gearing from the factory, but thats is where a build sheet would come in. You can email dodge and they can send you one free.

What does your swap bar angle look like?

I will try and send them an email then for a build sheet. I'll take a picture of the sway bar when I get home and show you guys.

You should be fine running 373 gears with 35"s. My buddy has 373 and I have 393 and its not much of a difference at all. If h go any bigger to like 37" tires I would upgrade gears.

The 2500 and 3500 Ram's w/Hemi's either had 3.73's or an optional 4.10 gear. Personally I'd regear the truck if you're running 35's or larger. The steeper gears put less unwanted stress on the tranny and motor.
