I have a 2007 HemiRam with the 4 doors and 4 wheel drive (auto trans). It's excellent in every way but I have 2 small things that bug me a little.

First, when coming to a stop at a light, just before or after I'm completely stopped the trans kind of acts like it's downshifting late to 1st gear. The truck kind of seems to jump forward a tiny bit, I can't be sure as it's kind of random. The first few times this happened I thought someone in the car behind me bumped into me but I now know that's not the case. Is this a common occurrence with these vehicles?

Second, when I'm in Park and idling I hear a recurring noise coming from what seems to be the passenger side rear of the truck. I hear it about every minute or so. The noise sounds like someone is getting out of their car and closing the door. It's a muffled sound just like a door closing. I would turn and look and there would not be anybody getting out of a car and I finally figured out it was something on my truck. Has anyone ever heard this sound?

Thanks for any suggestions with either or both things.

First i would check the tranny fluid, if it is a bit low the torque converter would need extra pressure (rpms) to get things going from a stop

The trans fluid level is fine, thank you.

By the way, this issue occurs when coming to a stop not when accelerating.

I had the same issue in an 06 tundra i used to have, and it ended up being low trans fluid for what its worth. I don't know about the dodge trannys but the Toyota's are also very picky on using oe Toyota fluid which could also cause that issue. Also another tundra thing that might be the case in your truck is the carrier bearing binding at low speeds and then coming free. Like i said i don't know about your ram but that issue is common on the first gen tundras and those are the normal three culprits. some of it might also translate to ram trucks
