Anybody color match their two-tone trucks? Thinking of painting the grille on my 2013 MegaCab and curious how it would look with silver replacement bumpers and a red grille. 118f4cfda16407f61d685db135d24fcd.jpg

Personally, I would leave it as is. I have a two tone (black/silver) and wish I could afford to have all the silver painted black, but decided to go with what I have and accent the chrome on the truck with chrome wheels.

Now, all red would look good on yours.

You can try it, but I sure wouldn't.

Yeah, problem with painting the body is that they have to paint the full door to get rid of the silver strip, because if you don’t there’s a ridge from the paint overlap.

I was just looking at getting rid of the chrome and only having the two colors, red and silver, since I’m going to find some aftermarket bumpers and color match them silver. Wish I could afford to get it all painted red, but not sinking that much into a paint job haha

I wouldn't do it either unless you color matched the door handles (which I did on my silver Laramie) and chrome mirror caps. I think you have a good looking truck the way it is.

Nice. Surprised they did that for you. What did it run you and how’s the finish?

I’ve got same colors in a 2014. I’ve found PR4 as the red code but not sure of the silver. Anybody know what it is?

I agree with those who vote for leaving as it is. The chrome (or polished aluminum) wheels, mirror caps, door handles, body badging and bumpers all tie together nicely. Very sharp truck, but I must admit that I like a little chrome. Clearly, my truck has virtually no chrome, except for badging, as it is the base level express.

Put some thought toward this, and started going to the dark side.

Got a quote of $415 for a 3M vinyl wrap installed versus paint / bedliner sprayed, as the wrap is less permanent. Haven’t decided if I want to go “hot rod red” or gloss black to lay over the silver. Right now I’m leaning towards black, because eventually I’m going with a lift and fender flares, and I think it would look sharp.

I’m also in the process of color matching the handles and eventually the mirrors, just going to go piece by piece.

Replaced the OEM bumper with a full replacement, so chrome is gone up front:

And here’s a good example of how it would look with the silver wrapped black, minus the text obviously:

If you do decide to get rid of the silver two tone paint, that red and black two tone will look nice!

Those chrome window vent visors gotta go bud. Were they on it when you bought it?

Yeah I know it’s on the list. I bought the truck new and those are the only one dealer had in stock at the time and wasn’t leaving the lot without vent visors

Can’t remember the price I don’t remember seeing it in the bill of sale tho but I’m sure they charged me some where for it. The finish is not the best up close can see the difference I was suppose to go get it fixed but life got busy. My plan is to just do a scorpion liner all around the bottom
