Installed TYGER AUTO Sportbar with retractable bed cover (REtrax).

Note:
Requires drilling through bed
Part:

Tyger Auto TG-SB7D88258

I took multiple measurements and ordered the wider model. My bed is 5’7 but I ordered the one for 6’5&8ft so it cleared rails and fit flush to bed.

1. Cut the TYGER bed bolt lip off
2. Put on truck with cover off then sketched up placement
3. I located stock plastic bed rails clip locations and was going to use but they didn’t sit in enough to grab enough metal on lower rail. I did cut some of the clips and drill next to them though. That worked well
4. Should have drilled through truck and rails at once but did truck then sport bar and tried to match to bed cover. Didn’t mess up things terrible but annoyed me.
5. Lesson learned - assemble the entire / full complete bar before drilling. Some of the threads have paint and it’s better to run the screws once before final install. Also, remove the lock tight on provided bolts and add WD40 then install - WAY easier - these things don’t need RED LOCKTIGHT.

Looks good. How do you like the step bars?

Also, there was some stick on padding on the sport bar as well the pull cover. I removed the padding altogether on sport bar then just the run of the sport bar along cover. That made the bar and cover sit flush to one another as if neither were together. Slick.

I love the running boards - LOVE THEM. NOW - the do eat down about 2-3 inches of ground clearance. For me I’m going to start at Bilstein 6112 install and 5100 on rear to regain the 2in with 35 so no concern. TYGER stuff is rock solid and well with it.

Good to know. Ground clearance isn't a big worry, I already have a 2.5" lift. I have to replace my current nerf bars and have been looking at those and similar ones from another brand.
