UConnect 5.0 reboots?

My UConnect 5.0 (I'm cheap) started repeatedly rebooting today, then eventually went to a blue screen of death, and now appears to be completely dead (not even backup camera working).

I used The Google and found out there was a bad Siruis satellite update (not to be confused with FAC's OTA updates) in 2017 that did similar.

Any other owners having similar issues today? Have the truck schedule for service Wednesday and will make the dealer replace it if necessary.

My truck is at the dealer now. Had a back up camera installed by the dealer a couple weeks ago. Worked fine then one day camera came on and won't go off. After speeds of 10 mph screen goes blue. Radio etc doesn't work at all.

Sounds very much like my experience. After I reported the above, my backup camera would randomly come on.

The dealer replaced the entire UConnect system.

Mine started rebooting a couple of days ago. I did not use it yesterday. So far no BSOD but I am betting a bad Sirius download. What’s really annoying is that it reboots even on FM. I am going to try to refresh the SAT signal but i doubt that will help. My truck is out of warranty so i can just imagine that it will cost $$ even though it is someone else’s fault that this happened.

Similar thing happened to my last truck with the UConnect 5.0 (2013 RAM 3500). Just be careful when taking it to the dealer for repair.....I ended up leaving with a UConnect 8.4N, only it was attached to a new truck!

Well I tried to message and call SXM regarding this issue. The non-US based phone tech was zero help. Basically said if it continues that it will need to be taken to dealer.
Sure-out of warranty service for a problem caused by SXM. I will give it a while then if it doesn’t magically resolve itself I will replace the RA-2 with aftermarket. I really don’t want to but if loosing SXM is part of the deal I don’t care. Best part of this fiasco is just as I was saying goodbye to the tech the radio rebooted. Big, giant WTF to SXM and to FCA for creating a crappy radio.

I have not experienced any issues with my 5.0 radio, but after reading your experience hope it is not a widespread issue.
