uconnect 5.0 update 9/8/14

just checked the site and saw there is an update now available for the 5.0 in my 14. gonna try it later. ill let you guys know what it does

Never mind, it doesn't. I updated to this version week before last. The one thing I did notice is when using Bluetooth streaming and my phones gps sends something via Bluetooth it keeps the media display instead of switching to phone display. That's was rather annoying when it would constantly do that.

It says this firmware is dated 04/21/2014.

No crap...bluetooth audio is horrid on that thing. I landed up getting a 1/4" plug and just playing audio from my phone that way...sounds much better.

I haven't touched that update from 4/21. The last update they sent out bricked many 5.0

My guess since it's available again is that it's a fixed version? Haven't has the compass issues others reported earlier in the year.

Yes you can use USB for audio and charging.

And I'll assume the audio sounds better then the BT stream? I can't get mine to play over USB (Galaxy 4) but will do some research.

I had that exact same trouble, turns out I had a faulty USB cable to the console. Not a problem since dealer replaced it.

my console usb never worked for music. it will charge it but says something about unrecognized device. its an iphone 5s

I had that exact same trouble, turns out I had a faulty USB cable to the console. Not a problem since dealer replaced it.

Interesting. My USB charges and works great with a USB thumb drive (in fact what I've been using since the BT sounds bad and the Sirius/XM sounds even worse). So the connection is there. Says the phone is incompatible device. Galaxy S4 so a common phone. I don't need the Uconnect app or anything?

Thumb drive works perfect for me also. I tried the uconnect app just in case still a no go. And the text messaging doesn't work for me either

I had to download the uconnect app from the App Store. It worked after that.

I downloaded it set it up. Says iPod disconnected and plays via Bluetooth but shows the app is connected. I may try the dealer

Keep updates coming, bc my 5.0 has same issues as everyone else - compass "no signal", text messaging works if I reinstall phone but stops after first message read, and audio isnt detected from my phone.

I installed the update yesterday and the text message reader shows up only after the iPhone4 was initially paired. But it's disabled after shutting off the truck and driving later in the day even though the BT set notification on is set on my iPhone4.

i just switcched to an android the lg g3. and it plays much nicer with the uconnect than my 5s did
