UConnect Software Update Received--What's in it?

Nope. When mine reboots to install it starts ar 90% and 38mjn. As soon as it hits 36min and 95% it goes to a white screen and reboots. I am on version 18 of the software. Im wondering if I need to go up a version first. However those versions have been removed from the 1st page.

Maybe punch your Vin into the uconnect update checker, maybe it'll give you an incremental update to bridge the big gap in versions

Well the update worked for me. The audio is much improved on SXM, Bluetooth and Carplay. The voice quality of the RAM voice is pitiful. I use Carplay and Siri so it doesn't bother me. One would think FCA would want the "voice" of $40K - $60K trucks to sound like it belongs in a vehicle in that price range. This one sounds like Hanoi Jane on an AM radio from a 1978 Horizon. I know from experience that paying low wages to outsourced programmers usually gets you crap and then they blame it on you because "it wasn't in the spec" you gave them.

if you pull the usb drive out does the radio work? Have you checked the version to see if it still on 18.4?

Says incompatible with my unit. Probably because my 2018 Ram 1500 is Canadian. Wish it would have worked.

Did you do a MD5 checksum on the file you downloaded to confirm you have a good download?

Most of the conversation in this thread is about people with 2018's that had their 8.4 UConnect stereos broken with an over-the-air update in September 2018. Radios with non-navigation had an update released in May to fix their stereos; people with navigation units had an update released just last week. Since you have a 2017, your radio wasn't affected.

In your case, I would be cautious about updating your truck. Basically "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" would be my advice.

Sorry, It will only work on USA 2018 UAQ radios. Since your in Canada, try to get your dealer to put the Canadian update on a usb drive. I know there are a few that could use it.

Ive seen some indication of a 18.45.01 version but was not sure if it was model year specific, etc.

So i'm confused about all this. I did one OTA update a month or so back worked fine now there seems to be another. Some are worried about OTA for obvious reasons. You can go to Uconnect put in your VIN and download an update if there is one which is what I'm currently doing. Update 17.43.01 is what it say's I need. What gives do we USB update or do these come OTA, and mine says 17.43.01 and some are talking about something much higher.

Yes, there is a newer update for most of us. Looks like anyone with an RA3 or RA4 (any pre-2018 radio that is nav capable or has nav from the factory)

The OTA you initially got was 17.43.01. The latest OTA is for 18.x and is applicable to the radios I just listed. Currently the 18.x update is OTA only, the UConnect website will NOT show it as a download even if it applies for your vehicle.
