Uconnect subscription and CarPlay

My complimentary Uconnect subscription from when I bought new 1 yr ago is about to expire. Mostly I find it useless. (Remote unlock, etc. it’s quicker to just use the keyfob)

However does anyone know If you don’t have the subscription do you then lose the CarPlay functionality?

You do no need connected services to use your CarPlay. Should you have any issues with your vehicle, please send us a PM, we'd be happy to assist.

I do not currently have the uconnect subscription and use CarPlay without issue. They are not dependent on each other.
