UConnect update

The 2018 & up Factory 8.4 radios by Panasonic officially go by the Application Version (not sw version).

The last officially available download was v22.6.0 and there were a few people reported getting an OTA update to v22.61.0 that was problematic.

New 2020/21 8.4 Classic UAQ/UAS radios are supposedly shipping with v34.2.0

Got the update and the radio crashed with error 20
Other than being away in the middle of nowhere and a screen that won't go off....can we say battery killer?

Radio screen also said contact uconnect.
Called their number and actually FCA customer service picked up.

By now I had installed a battery disconnect switch on the negative post to limp me along.
Good thing I had a spare in my travel trailer.
The agent told me to book into the dealer and pay for a diagnosis and then because I'm out of warranty on my 2018 he gave me a case number and called the dealer to let them know what's happening.
2 weeks later I'm back in town and at the dealer.
Mechanic pulled a mini fuse out of a small harness beside the brake booster.
Went in and no charge for the service and a new radio will be installed free when it arrives. That one small dealership has another 10 on backorder.

Driving home with that fuse pulled the rear camera doesn't work neither does the air conditioning and I think also some other controls.

Got home and put the fuse he gave back to me in so now i just have to live with the battery disconnect switch and have no radio.
FCA Canada customer service and my dealer in Uxbridge are the best.
The agent in Windsor has even called me twice to follow up.

Hate to bring forward an old discussion but it is relevant to the situation. My friend has a 2018 Laramie with the Alpine system and his screen is going blue and black and rebooting a bunch. Is there a common fix for this? This article mentions Panasonic radios....same problem, different fix?

The only time that i had a black or blue screen, the connection that comes out of the tailgate & hooks up behind the license place had worked loose
