Unknown engine problem?

It's not starting up at all....only when i step on the gas pedal but once i let go it stalls

Did you guys ever get this figured out. My 2005 did something similar last night for the first time. I tried to start it, it started and immediately died, about 7 times in a row. then i turned the key to ON, i heard the fuel pump, so i pumped the gas pedal a few times. It cranked right up like nothing ever happened. It cranks everytime now and i have never had a problem out of it till now.
2005 hemi quad, 3rd owner 56K on the clock.
