I've got an 07 qc 1500 5.7 4x4 that I've finally gotten the majority of its issues handled. Now its time for upgrades.

First one is a lift kit. I'm running 35x12.5R17 R/Ts and want to continue this path as I just bought fresh tires. Currently I have a leveling kit.

I'm tossed up between a 4 or 6 in lift. I don't go mudding as often as I used to so its 50/50 for looks.

I feel the 4inch would sit best with the tire size as 6inch would be too much space unless I upped it to 37" tires or 20" wheels. Any pictures or experience would help greatly.

Likewise, I'm looking to upgrade my alt to a 160 amp and wanted to see if thats feasible with running the stock battery cables and etc or if I'd need to upgrade my wiring. Mainly due to adding more lights and plans for a system.

I'm also looking for recommendations for rear lights including 3rd light as well as headlights. Currently my ECM is programmed with DRLs but plan to ask the dealership to reprogram them off.

Any and all recommendations , pictures, and insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there, I have an 08 QC 1500 4x4 that I've had since new. About 10 years ago I installed a levelling kit with 33's on 17" rims. I liked the look, but I needed more height because I was going off-roading quite often, so I upgraded to a 6 inch Zone (BDS) lift and ran 35's on 17" rims.

After 2 sets of 35's, I went with 37x12.5x17, and after 2 more sets of tires, I am now on 37x13.5x17, for the past 2.5 years. I like my current set-up the best. I like the beefier look, and performance, gas mileage, towing/hauling has not changed at all. I think if you are thinking of the 4" lift, 35's would look better in my opinion. It's all a matter of personal preference.

As far as your other questions regarding the alt and wiring, sorry but I can't help you.

I hope this helped. Good luck.
