Anyone know the proper size of the Upper Ball Joint retaining nut? Can't seem to locate it online and mine was [oddly] missing.

Was rotating tires and discovered the nut missing, hence a little rattle while driving over uneven ground or pavement...maybe when the ball joints were replaced as I find it hard to believe it loosened and fell off. Tried a bunch of on-hand hex nuts, none fit the thread (assuming 18mm w/ 2mm pitch??). Then tried my Kobalt portable table saw arbor nut...fit perfect. But I want to replace it (and the table saw size is not known either). Thx.

I think it's this one here, but you could always take the nut in to Ace or Home Depot and check bolts until you find the right size. I'd opt for the OEM one myself.

There should be cotter pins installed on the castle nuts on all the ball joints to prevent the nuts from backing out

Exactly, which may have gotten missed on this one whereas the passenger side is complete.
