Hello fellow Ram owners. I am having an issue with my 2013 Ram 3500 that is not deleted and still has all factory emissions intact.

I just had to have the DEF pump and injector replaced, not cheap ($2400) so I’m trying to avoid paying the dealer another $1700 to have them replace the NOx sensor without further troubleshooting.

The issue its had since right after I bought it is, it keeps setting trouble codes P2201 and U059E for my upstream NOx sensor. I’ve watched the videos, the DTC recommendations and the dealer all say to replace the sensor. I’ve cleaned, and replaced the NOx sensor and still had the codes after both.

It’s been suggested that I may have an airflow issue. When I pulled the sensor it was coated in carbon as I’m expecting is normal since it’s right after the turbo? What other things should I be looking at?

I will be wringing out the wiring harness to that connector to make sure I have no shorts or open wires.

I don’t know if it’s worth mentioning but I had to replace the upper radiator y-pipe due to a leak. Replaced it and serviced reservoir. Later got the low coolant warning and I smell antifreeze but don’t see anywhere else it can be or is leaking. Could I have an EGR issue that’s contributing to the sensor issue since it’s right after the turbo which is right after the EGR valve?

I’m new to Cummins and love everything but the emissions. Deleting isn’t an option since I just dumped $2400 into the DEF pump to get it out of limp mode.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same issues. Going to try and replace my nox sensor today, hopefully that works.
I had the same issue with coolant. There are some radiator hoses on top just behind the radiator. There is a plastic "y" which seems to fail. I replaced with a billet y and no longer have a leak. Videos on YouTube. Good luck
