There's one listed on my local c-list. The guy had it on his 05 hemi ram. The superchip forum says it will work on my 4.7. Is it worth it for $200? I know I would probably need to do an exhaust and intake to get the full benefit of it though.

It will work on your 06 4.7. It will give you a nice pickup over stock even without the intake and exhaust. $200 is an ok price, but I have been seeing the 3815 go for $150 to $225 on other forums. Just make sure it is unlocked

In the ad he says it was returned to stock, so I am assuming it is ready to plug in another truck.

Try talking him down a few on the price and make sure before you pay for it the thing shows unlocked.

If it is locked SC is around 100 to unlock plus shipping and you will be at the cost of a new one. Keep us in the loop on it bud.

good bang for the buck, but $200 is steep. its $100 to unlock it so hes really only coming out with a hundred bucks but still. they're about $375 brand new at that point its almost worth getting a new one.
make sure it works on your truck before paying him too.

When I sold mine 3yrs or so ago I got $200 out of it, met the guy and had him load it on his truck right then and there to make sure it worked. Now that was 3yrs ago, for a 3815 now, you shouldn't be paying more than $150

Well, this guy sold his truck, so now he's trying to sell a 10" sub and box, kicker amp, fold flat floors, husky liners and a few other things that he took off of it. Couldn't I plug it into mine right quick and it should say if it is indeed unlocked and not 'dead' like I've heard of them going sometimes?

yep, you could plug it in to see if it is truly unlocked. I would also, like the others have said, talk him down in the price, 200 is a little high. I bought mine brand new almost 2 years ago for 300.

Just got off the phone, I offered 120, he said no, I said 150 and I'll be there today, he said all right. I just hope I can tell a difference after I get it put on. Won't I have to download a program from their website for the 4.7 before it will work?

Before purchase you should plug it in and check the status screen to make sure its says "Returned to Stock". if locked then it will say something like "VIN LOCKED"

Mine's on the way, $178 for a used unlocked one, so that's the same general range.
