Am looking into intake options and want to know what everyone else thinks of the Airaid and K&N intakes for the v6. They are both about the same price, but the K&N comes with a polished tube where the Airaid uses the stock tube. The Airaid has the option of being a dry filter though. Are either of them worth the 300 bucks or should I look into the stock airbox mod? Also, I do have the OEM hemi dual exhaust system on my v6.
AIRAID PRO's/CONS
PRO - Dry or oiled filter options
PRO - Multiple color choices for filter
PRO - Airbox looks to be a bit better made than the K&N?
PRO - Looks like you can retain the plastic engine cover
CON - Have to use OEM tube from air box to throttle body.
K&N PRO's/CONS
PRO - Comes with smooth tube from air box to throttle body
CON - Oiled filter option only
CON - Red only filter
CON - Have to remove the OEM plastic engine cover
CON - Air box looks to have gaps that may let water in from bottom.. (think car wash under body spray)
OEM Air Box MOD
PRO - Its cheap.. 10 - 15 bucks maybe ?
CON - Does not look as good under the hood ?
I'm not expecting a huge increase in power or anything, but maybe better throttle response and an extra mpg or 2.
Thanks!
