Where's the best place to get one? Seems that autoplicity.com has them for around $326. Are there dealer discounts perhaps?

Another question. Is it possible to suck up mud n water n **** thru the bumper mounted intake tubes? Just being open like that it would make me not want to go off-road.

Take a look in the for sale section, there are Vararams for sale all the time (at least with the 4th Gens). That's probably going to be your best deal.

on the move..

The best price I have seen on these is on Moes Performance. I am consinitly looking on craigslist, amazon, and ebay for one on the cheap, but Moes still seems to be the best price around. Plus they have great customer service.

Yes its possible. If you are going to be doing extreme mudding or live in canada and do extreme snow bank blasting i would reccomend the s&b
Also the vararam under glass (for us 3gs) doesnt impress me as much as the air grabber (for 4g hemis)

I looked into the vararam and was damn near sold on the thing, but i looked into it more and some people said that the plastic and pieces weren't the best quality and sometimes didn't fit or line up.
I went with the S&B CAI which is an under-glass intake with an option for the under number intake scoop. I chose against the lower intake tube because:
1)you'll never be running at a fast enough speed to make a big enough impact
2)if there is enough air to create a positive pressure, similar to forced induction, it won't hold the pressure. The positive pressure will just go back out the other intake inlet and not into the engine, simply because air will always travel in the path of least resistance.
3) its almost quite literally a shovel. If you drive (anywhere) it will pickup anything that other cars tires kick up. If you off road at all or drive on the beach or in the snow, you're almost guaranteed to fill it with crap and render it useless.
The negatives outweigh the positives for that one because it isn't a true forced induction.

But back to the Vararam, for the same price and about the same power increase, the S&B is the better buy. Customer service is absolutely awesome too!!

I was going to buy the Vararam but I live in Canada and get lots of snow. I have heard from quite a few Canadians that have the Vararam have been having issues with snow getting into and clogging the filter. I had an S&B on my 09 and loved it. I am waiting for S&B to come out with an intake for the 14's. They said around beginning of June.
