Verizon has a device called the hum that plugs into obd and creates wifi among other things such as reading check engine lights, accessing vehicle info, etc. Well I have a custom tune that has already been erased once already by my wonderful dealership flashing my computer. So I'm wondering if anyone thinks this device would interfere with my tune. My obvious initial thought is no, because it's not modifying anything, simply reading information. But after losing my tune once, I don't wanna go through that again... Tia

You're better served avoiding it like the plague.

I would buy a cheap blue tooth module from eBay.

Really? So you think it would interfere with my tune? Or these comments based on the product itself?

The product itself. As a former user, carefully research it before committing.

Oh ok, yea my fiance actually sells for them and talked me into it basically for wifi only because my young kids have devices that are wifi only and when traveling it'd be easier than turning on mobile Hotspot

So this Hum, it is basically a hot spot that also does odb2 diagnostics?

Seems cool but if it messes with my truck I would skip.

I don't have kids so need to pay for more internet. If I needed could you just buy a hotspot?

Well that's the thing, I don't know that it messes with it. My assumption is that it wouldn't. I only pose the question because I went thru an ordeal trapping the guy down who tuned my truck to come load it again.

I was considering getting this for when my daughter started driving.
But, she doesn't need a hotspot. But if she or I did, I would just use my phone as a hot spot.
It can track her. I downloaded google maps on my daughter's iPhone. I can see her location at any time, if I am concerned.
OBDII, I can get an inexpensive one to read codes.
