Since buying my 05 3500 Diesel the volt meter has always read high. My volt meter says things are just fine. So my question is, can just the volt meter be changed out or does the whole cluster need to be replaced as a unit?

You are contradicting yourself. It reads “high” but says things are “just fine”.

What do you consider “high”…?

Before start, anything below 12.7 is a discharged battery. After start, anything above that, up-to 15 is fine.

(13-14.5 is ideal)

The needle is pegged against the high side post. The voltmeter says 13.5 volts.
My question was about replacing the voltage gauge and that is what I wanted to know.
