so im looking for a straight up trade for a K&N CAI. my vararam is about 1 year old. filter is still practically new. a few scratches on the plexy glass. comes with all the hard ware. only thing not included is the AIT wire extender. I did not need it for my truck, but i turned it into my power wire.

I might also take other trades of equal value.

Just curious, why do you want to get rid of it?

Lol for real?? Didn't know that lol... I would like one but I think ima wait my turn until one comes up used... I have learned from the past truck that paying for new is a waste when a used can be just as good way cheaper lol.... So Kevin when do you plan on going to a 3 bl;)

Lol I'm actually going to Vararam tomorrow to get a new filter for mine. It doesn't sit right in the groove.

No plans on a 3" body in the near future.

im ready for somthing different. and i keep hearing that the K&N gives more power then the vararam. im still not sure if i wanna get rid of it. just seeing if someone was interested. everywhere i show it off, people think it is the coolest thing. guess not a lot of people have seen one.

the k&n won't give you more power, the VR is about the best when it comes to intakes on the 3rd gens. the only "filter on a stick" that will get you close would be the now defunct BFI or Ram Hammer.

I keep seeing how the K&N has more power then the vararam. Id love to dyno with the 2.

It's hard to dyno the two I thought because of the vararams ram air capabilities. When you hit higher speeds more air is being forced in, but in a dyno it stays the same with the fan.

Jeremy is right. You will lose power if you go from your Vararam to a K&N. The Vararam is designed to draw in more cold outside air than any other intake available for the 3rd gens.

Vararam is on the top of the list for performance on the 4th gens as well. It does not have a direct cold air scoop like the 3rd gen model, but it is designed to draw air in from the front grille and force feed it directly to the filter.

Next best thing IMO would be any of the other aftermarket intakes with a homemade air scoop that will draw air in from in front of the front bumper. Straight out of the box, I still give it to Vararam.

Not many people here know this..........but I used to sell intakes too ;)

I don't talk about it much........cuz the guy was a shiester schmuck, but - I know a thing or 2 about what works well on the 3rd gens. :D

Also......I ran an AIRRAID, BFI and Vararam on my 08. The Vararam killed it all.
