Here's how it works.
When you buy a genuine DODGE ESP, the warranty starts at your INSERVICE DATE... (the date your bought your truck).
For example, if you buy an ESP today and lets say your truck has 10,000 miles already, and you bought the 7 year 70.000 miles, your ESP would be good til 9/25/2021 or 70,000 miles, which ever comes first.
True that the ESP doesn't really kick in til the manuf warranty expires, so you're actually only paying for 36,001 to 70,000 or 9/26/17 to 9/25/21.
So, it seems like overlapping coverage.
IF you were to trade the vehicle, you are issued a PRORATED amount AFTER 30 days, from the day you bought the ESP, plus a $75 admin fee.
The refund is sent directly to you, or sometimes applied as a payment if you have a loan.
An ESP is cheapest in the first 12,000 miles. For every 12,000 miles up to 36,000, there is a $100 surcharge per year.
So at 12,001, $100 will be added to the cost.... At 24,001 $200 will be added to the cost of the ESP, and so on..
Prices of ESP's generally seem to increase every year anyway.
Shop around for the best price at the time.

If you buy a either plan and keep the vehicle for 4 years what is the remainder worth when trading in the vehicle? Isn't everything covered up to 3 yr., 36,000; 50 to 100,000 for drivetrain. After my 2015 Laramie purchase I may consider this prior to expiration of factory warranty.
