I would stay away from silicone, it is temporary. If you use the search for our site search third brake light m-d This is the brand Home Depot has and a bunch of us have had success for over a decade. You can find a close size , but some trimming is required. Put the joint on the bottom if it’s not shown in the search .

Thanks but I'm not sure what you mean by the "high mount brake light isn't a thing" Can you clarify, please? Thanks
The “A” pillar are the ones at the left/right of the windshield.

The “high mount brake light”…(CMHSL) ….is above the rear window. They have been KNOWN to be a problem since the early 2000’s.

Rain and Car-Washing will get behind that CMHSL with a poor gasket and leak into the cab… soak the headliner and soak the carpet behind the rear seat and contribute to mold/musty-smell.

Re-Seal the SHMSL. (Butyl tape, such as used on RV’s and such works pretty good.)

If water is coming from the A-pillar…it’s most likely due to a leaking windshield gasket…but if it IS due to the CHMSL then it must be somehow being “channelled” around the headliner…. pretty difficult for me to imagine.

I bought my truck new in March of 2014 and within a few months my 3rd brake light went out. Pulled the cover and it was full of water. I called the dealer for warranty and they said they were aware of the problem but had no fix yet (seriously?). Got the exact product you picture and cut a strip to go around the top and down the sides between the lens and truck body (throw out the POS factory "gasket"). 10+ years later and my fix is still working just fine. The bulb actually failed again recently (10+ years later, presumably just due to age). Went to change it and it's dry as a bone and my repair that Ram apparently couldn't figure out is still holding strong :)

Agreed, I've had mine in/out several times changing bulbs/adding cameras with the same window gasket from home Depot installed. It's a lot thicker but very compressable making a good seal (I did leave a tiny opening at the bottom to weep though)
