I can tell you guys have much more experience than I do. To clarify, my experience, I have replaced pressure plates, clutch plates, throwout bearings in full sized chevy trucks. and adjusted linkage rods and replaced master cylinders and felt slipping clutches. For my current issues, there are no smells, no grinding, no changes of behavior in different temperatures, no uneven shifting in forward gears, nor slow or jerky shifting responses.

To me it seems my truck acts like older vehicles acted when they were low of transmission fluid, or the weight being hauled was just too much. But I am not hauling weight.

Should there be a light or will there be a code when low fluid or slipping discs or fluid restrictions or shortages happens?

If you have low fluid you will have a light. The 6 cylinder makes power between 3 and 5 k rpms. Below that it's a gutless wonder designed for fuel economy.

My opinion.

I have a manual transmission with my v6, so I can keep in a lower gear longer to get into the power band. If it had an automatic, I would not have gotten the v6.
