Driving home today, stopped at a red light, idle came down to 400 then back to 500. It's been like that for a while now, but its never dropped past 500. Any clues as to what could cause a drop in idle? The only plus side is that it did sound pretty awesome like I had an aftermarket cam haha.

The low idle issue was common on the 03's...There is even a dealer TSB for this. How long has it been since you replaced your spark plugs and wires?

I have a brand new duralast gold battery I just got in like February. I replaced plugs at 78,000 miles. I haven't done wires though.

Still a good idea to check it out. Just because it is semi new doesnt mean something could be bad. Have u ran any fuel cleaner and clean gas.

If you just replaced the plugs 2k miles ago, double check that they are tight and that all coil pack plugs and wires are tight as well.

This was a common issue on the 03s though, so it might be worth checking to see if you have the flash to help get rid of that.

I'll check it tomorrow. But I try to stay away from fuel additives. I think I once put a thing of gumout when I first got the truck, gas I get is ethanol free.(most of the time)

I'm going to be doing the big 3 to my charging system soon, so maybe that'll help things too.

Could be the TB. It might be gummed up and causing the problem and I would clean it anyway, its an easy job and good to do.

Ya I'll check it all today, and clean my TB. Right now it's chilling here at 600 parked.
