I was wanting to upgrade my plugs down the road and came across something strange in my owners manual maintenance schedule.

I have the 4.7 and in the manual it appears as though I have top plugs, which need to be replaced at like 60,000 miles.

Then it claims I have to change the side plugs at 96,000 miles.

Never heard of Top and Side Plugs.

Changed the plugs in my Mustangs and F-150's and it was easy. Just like any other V-8 from days past.

Anyone know what the hell? Does this thing have 16 plugs? I will have to go look....

i thought it was 06 and new had 16 plugs?

08+ 4.7s have 16 plugs, 2 per cyl. Those 2 have different change intervals. Go with what is in your manual. I think one is 60k and the other is 100k miles, but I cannot remember.

I just looked at the manual it says tops at 48K and sides at 96K. I wanted to put all new E3's or something that burns hotter. May have to wait on this one. LOL

i agree don't get expensive plugs that won't really make a difference and save the money for mods that will

I won't touch my plugs. That's why I have a warranty.
