Good luck. I’d almost put money on a broken vacuum line due to a/c routed to defrost vents. It’s classic.

Replaced the fabric on my doors

It wasn't that hard.you have to remove the rivets on the armrest and remove or glue over the fabric which is stapled on then spray glued then plastic welded back on or find small enough screws with big heads. The fabric on the bottom is just glued on the door so I just glued over top. Then the bottom panels need edging because there's no where to tuck it in like the armrest.

I fixed my first check engine light on it. I had to replace the Throttle Position Sensor. Extremely easy, but such a huge difference! Other than that, drive to work!

Supervised my son through changing spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor on the '97. Gotta make sure he can do it if I'm not around.
It runs pretty darn smooth for a truck with over 300k miles on the original untouched engine.
The original trans finally gave out. He had it rebuilt and it seems all is good now.

I just now realized that I haven't posted here in...well, kind of a long time.
So, Minion's developed a significant top end noise. I was pretty certain that one of the lifters was toast until I, a couple months later and in an amazing moment of clarity, did the ole', soapy water trick on the driver-side header. Turns out there's a big leak somewhere between cylinder 3 and 5 right at the head. Man, I can only hope that the problem is with the cheap, eBay headers and not the expensive Remflex gaskets. Either way, looking like it might be time to swap out my piecemeal "performance" exhaust with a more proper setup, starting with some long tubes.
I have also, twice this year, encountered a situation where the transmission will not shift out of first. Needless to say, limping through town at ~2,500 RPM in first gear with my open exhaust makes plenty of noise, LOL. In both cases, the situation happened during in-town driving on hot days and was resolved by simply letting the truck sit and cool for a while. Can't say I'm happy anyway and I'm hoping the situation can be resolved by improved transmission cooling. Shelling out a couple grand for another rebuild is something I would prefer to avoid as long as I can, LOL, especially since it's getting about time for a new set of tires.

Mom took the truck out for a simple grocery run a few days ago. At one point, the passenger side front u-joint went kablooey. The ejected cap in question was recovered and it was rather apparent that the rusted mess in question had been running with no grease for some time.
This marks the third time that I have had a sudden, complete failure of a Precision brand u-joint over the last 4 years. I do know well that my steering is far from perfect, so I certainly can't say for certain that part quality is entirely to blame.
That said, I have decided that I have had enough. I ordered a Red Head steering box, which are supposed to be pretty awesome, and will have it installed along with basically every component in the steering that can be replaced. There is no way these trucks went through the front u-joints this rapidly when new, so I'm going to start the **** over from new. I simply cannot carry on with u-joints maybe-maybe-not blowing up after a year or two of use.

I have put the Red Head gear box in my 99 V10 and was a great improvement in steering control. As for the u joints , that is excessive breakage. I replaced my front axle and drive shaft U-joints when I bought both of my trucks years ago and havent had a problem since. I abuse my trucks in the woods and off-highway they are still fine. I used to use MOOG but the quality has slipped some lately.
The Dodge broke down last week. Diagnosed dead fuel pump. Will install a new one Saturday. My awesome neighbor has a lift in his shop and we are going to lift the bed off.

Well, not today, but a couple weeks ago, I succeeding in backing my truck into a tractor bucket while positioning to unload a large hay bale. No body damage, but the passenger-side rear tire got it's sidewall completely destroyed. Cue a quick $260 for a replacement 10-ply Duratrac from the local Tandem.
Some screwups make you point and laugh. Some screwups make you facepalm and say, "I'm an idiot." Then again, I couldn't help but laugh anyway upon seeing my hopelessly ruined tire rammed into that bucket corner. I mean, what else are ya gonna do?

Last couple times I've drove mine after about 5-8 minutes it sputters/dies but then starts back up. Today it did it and gas gauge went from half tank to 1/8 tank when it did it and after checking mileage 1/8 tank seemed right. I'm thinking fuel pump is about to go out. Yall agree or?

Saying goodbye to Freya. Cancer progressed too far to safely off-highway anymore. Of my 3 trucks I liked her best but I can only keep one backup anymore (Thanks CT Taxes). She will live on. I will be using the body panels and the V10 powertrain for my 2001 2500 and the axles will go to my TJ.
