If you have one or can borrow one a large monkey wrench works great for holding the flange in place while torquing down the pinion nut. :favorites13:
I have a big pipe wrench, same thing right? How does that work? Mine is the smooth round companion flange not like a regular yoke

I need yalls help. When I installed my roll pan I lost my class 4 receiver because it stuck to far out. I still have it and rather than dish out the $300+ do y'all think I could move the mounting holes back on the frame for the receiver and mount the original receiver or do y'all think it would jeopardize the integrity of the frame to much?

I am talking something like this

but I believe id have to move it back on the frame some to accommodate the roll pan not extending out like the step bumper.

So, I changed my oil today and there was less than 3 qts that came out! Manual says 7qt capacity. WTF?!

I burn about a qt of oil about every 1500 miles. So if I just went an oil change without checking I'd be around where your at.

Ok, this is the first change since I've had her, so I'll be a bit more diligent now.

If the yoke is still on the driveshaft then the pipe/monkey wrench trick won't work. Just a suggestion but I've seen pics of homemade pinion nut removal tools, basically a piece of flat steel with holes drilled in it to bolt to the flange and a half moon cut out to allow access to the pinion nut.

Lol sounds familier.. I was Prob 2 qt under when I first bought mine an had put miles on it but hadn't done oil change. My ford leaked so much ******* oil prior so when I didn't see this one leak I thought nothing of it

No the companion flange is on the pinion, ya that's the tool exactly but no one around here has one.

Didn't get the rims. Kids got sick so I couldn't make it to the guy's place :( Set of 20x9 Cragar style rims for $175... looked decent, but still unsure if I'm sold on the cragar look.

On a side note, going to buy oil change supplies tonight, doing the job this weekend.

Finally got around to doing the front brakes. Upgraded the rotors (not sure what brand, cheap craigslist find 80.00 for the pair brand new. ) and slapped mopar pads on them.

You're doing a lot of work in a short period of time....... I'm jealous.

Everything I do seems to take forever to come to fruition. Nice brakes are definitely on my list though.

Mobil 1 synthetic 5qt jugs on sale now at Wal-Mart, $22.xx each. Pretty happy with that find. Grabbed that and two extra quarts along with a Mopar filter.

I just get lucky working at a dodge dealer being a tech. I can kind of have a "tap" in the parts department. So i just pay as I go. Lol

Most of my issues are time. I have a ton of parts and don't have time to put them on, so I have been buying stuff a little at a time.

Yeah, I just looked at the 9.25 axle on the front of my 06 and the driveshaft yoke doesn't have a hole in the center so forget that. I don't know what your companion flange looks like but mine is around 4' so maybe a pipe wrench would work on that. Make your own tool? Thread some bolts into the flange and chain them to the frame?

It has a small hole but the flange is just round and the drive shaft bolts to it, not like the old yokes with the ears, I put two bolts in and tightened them to my pry bar and pinned it against the gas tank, torqued to 210 and it still seemed like too much play/loose, so I hit it about another quarter turn with the impact, just took it for a spin and has a good vibration, and letting off a little whine/groan, so is it still too loose? Will that also cause the vibration?
